Fourth of July came a few days early for clients of Casa Israel Adult Medical Day Care Center in Newark, who celebrated June birthdays as well as the birthday of the nation.
More than 100 clients participated in the day’s events, which featured an old-fashioned barbeque, music, dancing, and of course, a birthday cake.

Newark resident Elisa Beovedes, a client at The North Ward Center’s Casa Israel Adult Medical Day Care Center, was honored as an outstanding senior citizen by Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo during the county’s annual senior citizen luncheon.

Clients and staff members at the North Ward Center's Casa Israel Adult Medical Day Care Center celebrated its ninth anniversary Friday, Sept. 24 with festive music, dancing, games and food.
"I'm having a lot of fun," said client James Leone. "There isn't much more you can ask for than what we have today -- good food and good people."

The North Ward Center's Casa Israel Adult Medical Day Care Center commemorated its eighth anniversary with a fun-filled celebration honoring the progress the center has made since it opened its doors in 2001.
Clients and staff gathered in the main hall Friday, Sept. 25, for the day’s festivities, which included food, gifts, music and dancing. Children from the North Ward Child Development Center next door were brought in to join the fun. Clients were given ribbons and eco-friendly totes as thanks for their patronage.
Clients of Casa Israel Adult Medical Day Care Center received a special treat Tuesday: a barbeque under the tent at The North Ward Center.
Casa Israel, which was founded by The North Ward Center in 2001, typically holds a birthday bash monthly for clients who are celebrating their birthdays that month. But in June, the celebration is held under the tent, said Bruce London, the director of Casa Israel.
